Monday 12/1Today we learn about Supply and Demand!
There is not much to post here today but there is one item we will use later on today.

12/5 Happy HAPPY HAPPY FRIDAYToday we will talk about and create a personal budget.

Monday 12/8Today we will be learning about making a budget in order to monitor spending, as well as learning how to cut excess spending in order to save money.
Tuesday 12/9Today we will be learning about what to do with our extra $ we have left over from our budget. Investing/Savings. We will also be taking a quiz over consumerism.
Wednesday 12/10It's a great day to INVEST! Today we will buy stocks in the stock market. Then continue to monitor our stocks for the next few weeks in an attempt to make money! Students who keep accurate stats of their company and invest wisely will earn extra credit points, those who invest poorly will see the opportunity fade. This showcases the RISK/REWARD system of the Stock Market.
Thursday 12/11Today we will be learning about different types of businesses in the United States (Sole Proprietorship, Partnership, Corporation). We will be working in small groups creating a poster about the advantages/disadvantages of each type of business, and what they are, and how they function.
We then will shift gears, and begin to talk about Labor Unions, and how they have impacted the United States. We will take an interactive field trip using an iBook in order to learn about Labor Unions.
12/12 Happy FridayToday we will learn about labor unions and how they impacted the United States. We will also take a virtual field trip around the nation and examine some of the major Union strikes.
In the second half of class today we will focus on how to measure the economy. We have all invested in stock market, so now we need to be able to monitor how it grows/declines, and the impact it will have on you.
12/15 Monday Monday MondayToday we are learning about the different ways to measure the economy. (GDP, CPI, Housing Index Etc.) And the roles the Government plays in regulating the economy.
12/16 Tuesday Tuesday Tuesday
Today we will take a quiz on how to Measure the Economy, Labor Unions, and different types of Businesses.
We will begin learning about the Monetary Policy of the Federal Government. Students will also take a seat in the role of the head financial advisor, and see if they have what it takes to control the finances of our great Nation! 12/17 Wednesday - Monetary Policy and Fiscal PolicyToday we will finish up Monetary policy. When we finish the discussion, students will then be handed the reigns over the entire economy and see if they have what it takes to be a Head Fed! Students will go through a simulation that requires them to use notes, thoughts, and educated guessing to see if they have what it takes to run the Federal Reserve and keep unemployment low, and the economy growing!
After we finish playing "The Fed" game, we will switch gears just a little and create a discussion on the Fiscal (Budget) policy of the United States and how it all works together! Lastly we will be creating a poster to advertise the budget of the United States to the WORLD!!!!
12/18 Happy Thursday!!!Today we will briefly discuss the fiscal policy notes that you did for homework last night. We will discuss the impact of the fiscal policy on the nation. THEN we will switch gears and start our last topic of the semester!!! Comparative Economics! We will be starting our final project!!!!
